the french vogue-ites

the thing that is so appealing about french vogue editor carine roitfeld and her daughter julia restoin, is the fact that they're always a bit messed-up, a bit undone. unlike always-immaculate, prim-and-proper anna wintour and bee schaffer, the french possess a far more approachable attitude. their hair looks as if it's been danced in, their eyes smeared with charcoal and their bodies not as carefully planned out. they are fashion - they don't just buy it.
