i was in the ago trying to find the way over to the julian schnabel mid-career retrospective, when the security guard warned me "try not to be underwhelmed." luckily i wasn't, but i guess that was the reaction to his new film, miral, at least. i certainly appreciate his movement between the 'art' and 'film' worlds, and his general ridiculousness - who wouldn't want to befriend someone who insists on wearing purple piped pajamas while residing in a hot pink building in downtown new york?
