pop life

about 3 hours of my life were spent at this exhibition at the national gallery. beginning with warhol and incorporating artists such as keith haring, sarah lucas, jeff koons, damien hirst, cosey fanni tutti, tracey emin, and takashi murakami, there was much to take in: painting, sculpture, print, newspaper articles, interviews, tv shows (an episode of the love boat), a stuffed horse, a 'unicorn' suspended in...embalming fluid (?), a quilt, wallpaper, murals, a shop (a replicate of haring's pop shop), a music video staring kirsten dunst, and, of course, some casual pornography! let's just say i need not ask any more questions about koons and his hungarian pornstar wife... i loved watching haring dodgily doing his 'subway art' in nyc, and emin's my major retrospective, which she produced at the start of her career. hilarious!
